About the Black And White English Magpie

The black-and-white is the original and most prized form of the English Magpie, the variety against which the breed is judged. Its coloured areas — head, neck, breast, back, saddle and tail — carry a deep black with a metallic, iridescent green-and-bronze sheen, contrasting sharply with the crisp white body that gives the breed its magpie name. On this slim, elegant exhibition tumbler, the clean, even cut between black and white at the breast and saddle is the chief mark of quality.
