About the Mottle English Trumpeter
A pied pattern rather than a self colour: the head and neck are speckled or 'mottled' with white through to the chest, while the chest, underbody and tail stay a solid colour, and the wing flights carry colour (at least the first three flights to qualify). It is one of the showier marked patterns on this heavily feather-buried breed, whose rose and shell crests and huge foot muffs frame the speckled face. Like all English Trumpeters it is a purely ornamental exhibition bird.
