About the Blue Fantail
The Blue Fantail carries a clear grey-blue body with two well-defined black wing bars and a black tail bar, the neck flashing an iridescent metallic sheen. The standard specifies pearl or orange eyes with dark ceres and black beak and toenails. This barred blue is the wild-type ground colour from which most other Fantail shades derive, displayed on the breed's theatrical 30-40 feather fan.
