About the Red Fantail
The Red Fantail should be an even, clear, rich bright chestnut throughout, free from sootiness or any bluish or plum tint, with the neck feathers showing an iridescent metallic sheen. The standard gives it pearl or orange eyes and flesh-coloured ceres, beak and toenails. The warm, uniform colour is one of the harder selfs to keep clean and even across the breed's large erect fan.
