About the Blue Jacobin

The Blue Jacobin shows a bright, clear, rich blue with broad, well-defined black wing bars and a green metallic lustre — the classic wild-type pattern. As with all coloured Jacobins the body is broken by white head, rump, tail and around ten white flights per wing, framing the enormous feathered hood, mane and chain that make this exhibition breed so striking.
