About the Magnani Modena
Magnani is the Modena's stippled, multi-coloured marking, in which the colour supply is interrupted during feather formation (the stipple factor, shared with almond) to give a flecked, broken appearance. Each primary and secondary should carry three colours in patches, the flecking heaviest on head, neck and flights; even 'break' across the bird is prized. It is a distinct exhibition class on the breed's cobby frame, and should not be confused with white flights or back feathers, which are faults here.
