About the Dun-Headed Nun Pigeon
The dun-headed Nun carries an even, soft greyish-brown dun on the head, bib, tail and flights — dun being the dilute form of black — against the breed's white body and shell crest. It is a quieter, less common alternative to the bold black-headed bird; an evenly toned, lustrous dun, distinct from brown, is the aim. A neatly marked old toy show pigeon known on the Continent as the Dutch Shell.
