About the Red-Headed Nun Pigeon
The red-headed Nun wears a rich blood-red on the head, bib, tail and flight feathers in place of black, set off by a flesh-coloured beak and the white body and shell crest common to the breed. Red is a recognised standard colour but less often seen than black; depth and evenness of the red, clean against the white, is the exhibition ideal. A crisp, old toy fancy breed bred chiefly for show.
