About the Various Parlor Roller
The Parlor Roller is bred and judged almost entirely on how far it somersaults backwards along the ground, so colour is incidental and birds turn up in many guises — self black, red, blue and white, plus patterns such as black-tigered, almond and white grizzle. A flightless Scottish performance breed developed from the Parlor Tumbler, it is short, stout and wedge-bodied, with appearance always secondary to rolling distance in competition.
