About the Dun Racing Homer
Dun is the dilute of black: the sex-linked dilution gene that turns blue to silver instead lightens a spread-black bird to a soft brownish-grey dun. It is an uncommon colour in racing lofts, where blues and silvers predominate. Beneath the muted feathering is the same powerful, tireless homing pigeon the breed was created to be.
