About the Red Racing Homer
Red Racing Homers show a rich, even reddish-brown plumage rather than the wild-type blue. In racing stock this colouring comes from the ash-red series (and at its deepest from recessive red), and red birds are noticeably less common in the loft than the blue and silver families. Colour aside, it is the same intelligent, long-distance flying athlete the breed was built to be.
