About the Silver Racing Homer
Silver is the dilute of blue: a sex-linked dilution gene lightens the blue-grey ground to a soft pale silver-grey, usually carrying bars or chequering like its blue parent. (Some racing men also loosely call ash-red bars "silver," but the true silver is dilute blue.) It is one of the more frequent colours in racing lofts after blue, worn here by the same tireless distance flyer.
