About the Black Runt
The Black Runt shows a deep raven black with a beetle-green sheen, set off by a golden-red iris and black beak and toenails. As in all coloured Runts the depth and evenness of colour earns points, but the variety is prized chiefly for the breed's sheer bulk, deep keel and bold Roman nose, bred above all for squab.
