About the Almond Show Tumbler
The Almond is the Short-faced Tumbler's signature and most historically prized colour — a society to perfect it (the Columbarian, breeding "Ermins") existed before 1764. It shows a rich golden-bronze ground broken by black and white spangling or flecking, produced by the sex-linked Stipper (almond) gene over a kite-bronze, T-pattern check base. No two birds are alike and the pattern deepens with each moult, making it the connoisseur's colour on this tiny, big-eyed exhibition pigeon.
