About the Snowflake Bobwhite Quail

A bright white bird marked with inky black flecks, the Snowflake is a natural colour mutation that arose within Mexican Speckled bobwhites rather than from any cross. It was discovered by Kenny Armstrong of GunRunner Gundogs in 2004 and bred up from a single survivor into a stable line. Where the Mexican Speckled is gold-toned with dark markings, the Snowflake keeps the same speckled pattern on a clean white ground, making it a striking and still uncommon phase of this North American game quail.
