About the Schiamachi Button Quail

Despite the name everyone uses, the 'button quail' of the aviary is really the King or Chinese Painted Quail — the smallest of all gamebirds, a thumb-sized charmer in slate-blue and chestnut (the cock) or soft rufous (the hen). Ground-dwelling, gentle and easy, it comes in many colour mutations and lays tiny, pretty eggs. A delightful little aviary bird.
