About the Fawn Japanese Quail
Fawn (roux-dilute) is a soft, warm pinkish-brown lightening of the wild colour, the feathers finely pencilled with white and the pale eyebrow stripe still showing. As the base roux mutation it underlies many of the reddish varieties; the name is sometimes used interchangeably with the single golden forms. Lays and matures as fast as any Coturnix.
