About the Tuxedo Japanese Quail
Tuxedo is the pied colour — the heterozygous dotted-white gene that paints a white breast, throat and wingtips against a coloured back, giving the 'waistcoat and shirtfront' look. Being an incomplete dominant it never breeds fully true: pairs throw coloured, Tuxedo and English White chicks. Otherwise a standard productive Coturnix.
