About the White Texas A&M Quail

The defining trait of the Texas A&M is its pure-white plumage, bred in by crossing the original heavily-muscled brown table strain back to English White Coturnix so the carcass plucks clean, free of the dark pinfeathers and melanin pigment that mar a coloured bird. Sexes are alike in colour, so this large meat quail cannot be sexed on feather pattern. As a white meat strain it carries all the breed's table qualities: a heavily muscled bird ready in six to eight weeks that still lays 250-300 white eggs a year.
