About the Grey-Brown Greater Rhea
The natural wild-type colour of the Greater Rhea: fluffy, tattered-looking plumage that is greyish-brown overall, darker on the neck and upper back and paler on the thighs and belly, with high individual variation and males generally darker than females. This is the default form farmed for meat, leather, feathers and eggs, and the standard stock most rhea keepers run. A tall, fast-running South American ratite in which the male alone builds the nest and incubates the communal clutch.
