About the Cambridge Bronze
The bronze plumage is the Cambridge Bronze's defining feature: a rich coppery-bronze running from neck to mid-back where each feather ends in a narrow black band, shading to black feathers carrying a broad bronze band over the lower body, and a tail barred with brown and bronze edged in intense black and tipped white. The iridescent metallic sheen, closest of any turkey to the Eastern Wild type, deepens in the male; hens show faint white lacing on the breast. A standard heavy breed, it is far scarcer than the broad-breasted commercial Bronze and still breeds naturally.
