About the White With Black Markings Crollwitzer
The Crollwitzer's only colour is its defining pied pattern: a crisp white ground feather-by-feather edged and banded with black. The neck is white with a fine black edge to each feather, the breast feathers end in a black band to give a fish-scale effect, and the white tail carries a wide black band near the tip ending in pure white. Classed as a Light ornamental and slow to colour (black markings emerge over the white poult down at around 6-8 weeks), it is bred for the show pen, where missing black edging or any brown is a defect.
