About the White With Black Markings Royal Palm

This is the Royal Palm's signature and only standard colour: a clean white ground sharply edged in metallic black. Each white breast feather ends in a band of black, giving a scale-like black-and-white contrast, while the saddle is black and the white tail carries a broad black band with white tips. The APA recognised this striking pattern in its Standard of Perfection in 1971. As a small, ornamental heritage turkey listed "Watch" by The Livestock Conservancy, it is bred for looks, with hens around 10-12 lb and an active foraging nature.
