About the White Holland
The White Holland carries uniform snow-white plumage — the result of an ancient recessive colour-loss mutation, here paired with a red-to-bluish head, black beard, pink-to-horn beak and pinkish-white shanks. Recognised by the American Poultry Association in 1874, it was historically the most important white-feathered table variety in America. Today it is among the rarest and hardest-to-authenticate turkeys, classed Threatened, prized as a naturally-mating heritage bird and ancestor of the modern Broad Breasted White.
